About 7:15 this evening I was watching The History Channel when I saw an ad for a TV program to be broadcast on WUSA, the local CBS affiliate, called The Doctors. At the end of the ad, it said, "Today at 4 on Channel 9."
On a side note, I have typed this message on my Vista computer with my mouse not working. Just suddenly went out, stopped working. I use a KVM which has two computers hooked up to it. Switched to the XP machine and the mouse works fine. The reason I can do anything is a function called "mouse keys" where the right-side keypad works as if it were a single-button mouse; by pressing ctrl-shift-numlock, the arrow keys move the mouse and the 5 key works as the single button. So I can get some work done, but for long term use I have no choice because it's extremely tedious to operate and there's no right button for context use. The only option is, of course, eventually to reboot. In 95% of the cases or better, I'd say, this solves the problem. In rare cases, it takes a second or even a third reboot for it to fix it. Gremlins who haven't left yet, I guess.
This happens occasionally, where Windows just all of a sudden stops recognizing the mouse. Since the KVM still sees it and no changes were made, it just happens that for some reason Microsoft Windows just up and quits recognizing the mouse, and I have no idea why. Gremlins who haven't left yet, I guess.
The big problem is, I'm watching the current show (as a reminder, this computer has a TV tuner, so I watch the Cable TV here), and a reboot of this machine takes upwards of 10 minutes or more. So if I reboot I have to wait at least ten minutes. At least if the TV is active, I can use the included remote control. So it's not all bad, but it's at least unfortunate and definitely unpleasant.
