I wasted some time (and far too many brain cells) watching one of these TV shows covering celebrity divorces, and in all the cases they keep mentioning that the couple filed for divorce citing "Irreconcilable differences."
They could save a whole lot of time by pointing out that since California went to no-fault divorce, oh, I think it was in the 1960s or 1970s, (due to the easy availability of no-fault in neighboring state Nevada), that there are now only two reasons you can get a divorce in California: Irreconcilable Differences, and the one they kept from the fault-required days, Incurable Insanity.
So basically, don't bother telling us when a celebrity couple in California files for divorce citing Irreconcilable Differences, I'd be more interested in finding out when someone files for divorce citing Incurable Insanity!
